Background:

You learn a lot of techniques as a brand storyteller. How to structure messaging. How to speak to people’s subconscious needs. How to reframe challenges. How to roll in clinical psychology techniques into building brands. The same techniques I used to change how people viewed products and services could also be positively used to change the way people thought about they lives. So why not do that directly on a challenge that affects millions of people every day?

So where could I do that most positively?

Challenge:

Create an app specifically to help people get over relationship breakups. There are plenty of dating apps. But not many apps that helped when dating goes wrong. So I came up with “Unbreak your Heart”.

Outcomes:

Released on iOS, “Unbreak You Heart” got good online reviews, users in 30 nations - and highly positive feedback from users. Including one from an army colonel who claimed my product had “got her off meds”.
